Mmmm...looks cute and yummy! Would love to try this. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Anncoo,
Thanks for your cute words. Happy baking. :)
Hi, is this similar to Kuih Bahulu that is crispy outside and soft inside?
Thank you.
Hi Bamk,
It's difference from Kuih Bahulu. This is a sponge cake.
Hi, can I leave out the ovalette in this recipe?
Hi Chris,
Sorry, this recipe required ovalette. You can use the Paper Sponge Cake recipe(already posted in my blog) and just add in lemon essence and zest.
Hi Happy Flour,
I love Sponge Cake baked in this manner. Now I have a packet of 500g of Sponge Cake Mix flour, can I use it to make the lemon sponge cake? how much ovalete shd I add in? The instruction on the packaging stated to add in 8 eggs and xxx water and oil (can't remember how much is the qty). If I add melted butter is it ok?
Thanks!
Mary
Hi Baking Queen,
This recipe uses cake flour not sponge cake mix. 500g of sponge cake mix can make about 3 to 4 8inches sponge cake. Why don't you look for a recipe which uses sponge cake mix instead.
