Hi Irene's Footprints,

I also liked to eat nian gao coated with grated coconut or just plain. This was what my mum used to make for us when we were young. Yummy...:P

Hi, could you kindly let me know how to make the batter for the fried nian gao. Whenever i try to fry them, they all melt in the pan...:(

Hi Lily,

Your pan is too hot. Just coat the nian gao with batter and pan fried it over medium fire till it browned. The nian gao is cook so there is no need to fry for a long time.
I just mix plain flour, rice flour, salt, egg and water together. I didn't measure on the quantity just estimate only.
