Chuggington Character Birthday Cake

Yesterday, I baked this cake for my younger boy to celebrate his birthday with his classmates today. He was so happy to see his later favourite Chuggington character 'Bastian' on his birthday cake. :)

  7. Hi About Me,

Thanks, I never attend a proper cake decoration class before. I just anyhow pipe the pattern on the cake. There are still lots... of room for improvement.

  11. Hi Anonymous,

May I know how should I address you.

I can't promise you but I will try. As I don't have any helper to take photos while I'm decorating and I have to do it fast before my pot of chocolate set.

  12. my son loved this ....one question as soon as u trace the figure with choclate what would u do i mean would u put it in refrigrator or outside because i tried to put it n refrigrator after 10 min it broke .. can u plz tell me what might have gone wrong

  13. Hi Anonymous,

Once I done with the picture, I left it to set at room temperature first. Then I placed a plastic over it and put a light weigh on it, this will prevent the picture to bend and break. Then I put it into the fridge for later use.

  18. Thanks for your reply. Will try someday..Another question..among all your sponge cake recipes..which is the easiest and most fail-proof ? Many thanks, Lilian

  19. Hi Lilian,

If you are confident in whisking egg white then go for the separate egg method if not just use the whisking method (whisk egg and sugar together). If you wanted a fail-proof sponge cake then use sponge cake pre-mix.

  20. Thanks. I will try out the sponge pre-mix. Have seen it in NTUC before.
